Maya Bou-Gharios is a London-born artist. She graduated in 2022 with a First Class BA Honours degree in Fine Art. Since a young age she has been fascinated by nature, especially the animals that inhabit it. Her work addresses the detrimental impacts that we are having on our environment and ourselves. The main focus of her art has been the escalating plastic pollution crisis. She works with sculpture, photography, and video. Her artwork is informed by the constant new data and statistics gathered by scientists. By basing her work on current research, she hopes to maintain awareness of ongoing issues.
